A beautiful surprise {part 2}

March 29th, 2010

Here is part 2 of the wonderful and beautiful 50th birthday surprise party for my friend Leah’s mother. This is a bit backwards…my apologies. This should have been part 1 because it is the custom design for the SAVE THE DATE that was sent out to all the guest a month before the invitations. I wanted to get a new display for this blog post with the same colors scheme and something I could eat after. wah lah…I thought of the colorful and sweet macaroons.

The SAVE THE DATE was done in the same colors as the invite I blogged about earlier today. I created a fold over backing and the top said “Shhhh…it’s a surprise”. With the SAVE THE DATE, there is a small note card & envelope for the guest to write a little message for their mother and also for the guest to include photos, mail back to the girls and which they would put them all in a big scrapbook full of memories. Leah and her sister came up with this idea which I thought it was so adorable.What a thoughtful gift! I just love it!

A beautiful surprise! {Part1}

March 29th, 2010

It was such an honor to design a custom surprise 50th birthday party invitation for my wonderful friend Leah. Her mom is turning 50 and her whole family planned a secret party for her, inviting family and friends to celebrate this very special occasion. Right when Leah picked the rananculus flowers as the invitation theme. I knew that this will be one of my favorite invitation sets because rananculus is one of my all time favorite flowers. Then we started to pick out the colors together…something fun, spring, and girly. The colors are Papaya, Poppy, Strawberry and light brown. The invite has 4 layers all together (papaya at the bottom layer, white, strawberry and then the top layer is the invite), matching printed envelope, and a small direction card. Stayed tuned for part 2! (photo & style by peach mailbox)

The 1930’s Theme Wedding

March 22nd, 2010

I had an opportunity to work on the wedding programs and place cards for a 1930’s theme wedding. The classic pencil drawing of the peacock  for the front was provided by the couple. The theme is very classic and elegant with a little of art deco style. For place cards, the couple decided to use 14 great 1930’s movie stars for each table. Peach Mailbox had 2 days to put together the design of the programs and place cards plus produce all the pieces for 125 guests. It was a cruch time but I am so happy to be a part of the wedding.

Oh my…I See DOTS EVERYWHERE!!!

March 18th, 2010

I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I love Dots Cupcakes. I still remember the first time I spoke to Hailey (the owner) on the phone, sending my card samples, the very first order, the first time I visited the shop, also the largest order of the holiday scented cupcake cards and many more things along the way.

It is truly an honor to have this opportunity to blog about Dots Cupcakes and have my cards at the shop. Hailey of Dots Cupcakes always supports my work and believes in my ideas. She is one of Peach Mailbox’s biggest clients and I just can’t say thank you enough.

Every cupcake store has its own signature. Whether it’s the cupcake designs, the sizes, the flavor menus and of course…the taste. I have tasted a whole lot of cupcakes (more than I should…really) and Dots Cupcakes are definately one of my favorites!!! Everytime I saw that cute (and yes…yummy) flower decoration on top of a cupcake, the first thing that came to mind was…”that’s from Dots!” The mini cupcakes are absolutely adorable and of course has the same great taste. Then When I found out that Dots was going to be opening a 2nd location I couldn’t have been more excited. So now everytime I visit Pasadena, I see Dots boxes and bags EVERYWHERE! Dots will be carrying Peach Mailbox cupcake decoration picks called ”Stick To Your Picks” very soon..so stay tuned. When you are in Pasadena, stop in and check out Dots’ cute shop(s) and treat yourself to Dots fabulous cupcakes or even a t-shirt and why not a calendar, maybe some cupcake lip gloss and scented cupcake cards from Peach Mailbox!

Hailey, thank you so much for supporting Peach Mailbox. I love your shop (love the new garden theme), your yummy cupcakes and your generosity. You are awesome blossom and I wish Dots Cupcakes the greatest success!  {As a special thank you, I gave her the first ever ”Love. Peace. Cupcake” necklace that I made.}

Here comes the invite!

March 11th, 2010

I finally had a chance to design and mail/drop off a few invites for my dog toy making party. I used the same theme design from the Save The Date (but slightly different colors). I also created a little dog tag that said “Made with love by family & friends from Peach Mailbox”.

When the dog toys are done and ready to be shipped out to Nebraska. I will wrap them up in a box, tie the ribbon around and put my little dog tag that I created on there. My husband, myself, Rascal and Darla will host this little party. Yummy desserts, fresh fruit, coffee and tea will be served. We will have all the kits for making dog toys ready for each person. This is a monthly occasion, so if you like to join Peach Mailbox, please contact Gamie at gamie@peachmailbox.com. We will send you a Save the date card and the invitation will follow with all the information. Hope to see more people come together, hang out, eat, and create dog toys for dogs that are waiting to be adopted. I am very excited!

Featured Store: Rock Paper Scissors

March 8th, 2010

I can’t even begin to express how I feel about Rock Paper Scissors when I first had an opportunity to speak with Lauren the founder of this amazing stationery shop in Franklin, TN. Lauren was just absolutely sweet and made me wish I could just jump on a plane and go give her a big huge hug and say thank you. She gave me an opportunity to send her some samples and then she contacted me right away when she got the package. Most of you may know that I have done a lot of cold calling to stores or walk-ins, either asking store owners or buyers for a chance to carry my cards. I’m not going to sugar coat it, it can be a big disappointment and many times it made me question myself and if whether or not this is what I should be doing. In this case, Rock Paper Scissors turned all my frowns upside down!

Rock Paper Scissors carries adorable and elegant stationery lines, such as Jack and lulu, Wiley Valentine, West Side Kate Stationery, Dabney Lee, just to name a few. I encourage you all to visit the website and shop online or even better yet, stop in and check out the shop if you are in the area. I am also a big fan of her blog.  I love the catchy titles, great content and just all the cool things Lauren finds.

Also today is Rock Paper Scissors 7 year Anniversary and Lauren blogged about my scented cupcake cards on this very special day! I am so honored. Congratulations to Rock Paper Scissors, wishing you a happy 7th birthday and many many more! CHEERS!

Eat cupcake (s), now wear tiny cupcake!

March 6th, 2010

Since I’m sure that everyone probably know how much I love cupcakes. I’ve traded my must have cappuccinos each day to cupcakes. Not sure if that’s a good thing but you only live once…so why not. Since I started Peach Mailbox : the original scented cupcake cards , I wanted to also wear my own art as well. Sadly, I don’t  know anything about jewelry making what-so-ever. So after a lot of of fail experiment and research to figure out a way to create a little charms so I can wear my art with me. I finally nailed it down. So I eat cupcake, hand-stitched cupcake cards, now I get to wear cupcake!

The tiny little charm dimensions are 0.25″ wide (at the middle) by 0.5″ tall (including the loop part), Sterling silver, the chain is 16″ long and displayed on the canvas, hand-stitched border as shown for my DIY photo shoot. I got the tiny canvas from an art store (yes…I bought it because it is small and cute). I also inserted the 2 pins at the top so I can hang the necklace on there. All about love, eat cupcake and then you’ll have peace! I hope you all enjoy my little charms.

For custom art and questions, please contact gamie@peachmailbox.com. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I have a special feature store blog on Monday. Stay tuned, I’m serious!!! Next week, I have lots to blog about.

PM-Thanku-header

I just want to say thank you to everyone who read my blog, became a fan of Peach Mailbox on Facebook and followed me on Twitter. When I first started blogging, there are many moments where I weren’t sure if there is anyone out there reading my blog or even care about what I had to say each day. Now, I’ve been receiving comments from all over the world, amazing and talented people started to follow me on Twitter and even added me as a fan on Facebook. No…I don’t have a thousand fans or friends for that matters. But for me, I really do cherish all my readers and my fans. It means the world to me and you are all my greatest motivation. I would like to say thank you to everyone who spent their time to read my blog and leave such sweet comments and people who started to follow me on Twitter and also became a fan of Peach Mailbox on Facebook. I am so grateful and I wouldn’t even be here without all the supports.  So again, thank you and stay tuned. Big hugs to all! Cheers!

Get Addicted with Fashion & Art

March 3rd, 2010
The title said it all! I got most of my dresses, purse, jewelry and shoes that are cute but yet comfy from this store.  (I’m all about dresses…you can eat lots but no one can tell…ha hah!) The first thing that caught my attention while I was looking for a loft in Downtown LA was the name. The cool hip boutique shop is called CRACK, Clothing & Gallery.

After I moved to DTLA, I finally stopped at the shop one afternoon. Love love love (did I say enough LOVE???) this store! I found so many pretty dresses, cool jewelry pieces, and eye catching artwork that are hanging all over the shop and of course their hidden downstairs art gallery. Not only they have the women section. Men…you also have your own section too. The decorations/ displays are super hip, fun and most of all great customer service. I met Jane the owner and it was such a pleasure to chat with her while I’m shopping. She is super sweet and also knew exactly what  I like and always gave me an honest opinion. I valued that so much. You can get such adorable outfits for such great prices. I’m all for that (so as my husband). The name is perfect because I’m so addicted to the store! Thank you so much for letting Peach Mailbox blogged about CRACK: Clothing & Gallery about your shop. See you real soon! *wink *wink
