I finally had a chance to design and mail/drop off a few invites for my dog toy making party. I used the same theme design from the Save The Date (but slightly different colors). I also created a little dog tag that said “Made with love by family & friends from Peach Mailbox”.

When the dog toys are done and ready to be shipped out to Nebraska. I will wrap them up in a box, tie the ribbon around and put my little dog tag that I created on there. My husband, myself, Rascal and Darla will host this little party. Yummy desserts, fresh fruit, coffee and tea will be served. We will have all the kits for making dog toys ready for each person. This is a monthly occasion, so if you like to join Peach Mailbox, please contact Gamie at gamie@peachmailbox.com. We will send you a Save the date card and the invitation will follow with all the information. Hope to see more people come together, hang out, eat, and create dog toys for dogs that are waiting to be adopted. I am very excited!

I can’t even begin to express how I feel about Rock Paper Scissors when I first had an opportunity to speak with Lauren the founder of this amazing stationery shop in Franklin, TN. Lauren was just absolutely sweet and made me wish I could just jump on a plane and go give her a big huge hug and say thank you. She gave me an opportunity to send her some samples and then she contacted me right away when she got the package. Most of you may know that I have done a lot of cold calling to stores or walk-ins, either asking store owners or buyers for a chance to carry my cards. I’m not going to sugar coat it, it can be a big disappointment and many times it made me question myself and if whether or not this is what I should be doing. In this case, Rock Paper Scissors turned all my frowns upside down!

Rock Paper Scissors carries adorable and elegant stationery lines, such as Jack and lulu, Wiley Valentine, West Side Kate Stationery, Dabney Lee, just to name a few. I encourage you all to visit the website and shop online or even better yet, stop in and check out the shop if you are in the area. I am also a big fan of her blog. I love the catchy titles, great content and just all the cool things Lauren finds.
Also today is Rock Paper Scissors 7 year Anniversary and Lauren blogged about my scented cupcake cards on this very special day! I am so honored. Congratulations to Rock Paper Scissors, wishing you a happy 7th birthday and many many more! CHEERS!

Since I’m sure that everyone probably know how much I love cupcakes. I’ve traded my must have cappuccinos each day to cupcakes. Not sure if that’s a good thing but you only live once…so why not. Since I started Peach Mailbox : the original scented cupcake cards , I wanted to also wear my own art as well. Sadly, I don’t know anything about jewelry making what-so-ever. So after a lot of of fail experiment and research to figure out a way to create a little charms so I can wear my art with me. I finally nailed it down. So I eat cupcake, hand-stitched cupcake cards, now I get to wear cupcake!

The tiny little charm dimensions are 0.25″ wide (at the middle) by 0.5″ tall (including the loop part), Sterling silver, the chain is 16″ long and displayed on the canvas, hand-stitched border as shown for my DIY photo shoot. I got the tiny canvas from an art store (yes…I bought it because it is small and cute). I also inserted the 2 pins at the top so I can hang the necklace on there. All about love, eat cupcake and then you’ll have peace! I hope you all enjoy my little charms.
For custom art and questions, please contact gamie@peachmailbox.com. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I have a special feature store blog on Monday. Stay tuned, I’m serious!!! Next week, I have lots to blog about.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who read my blog, became a fan of Peach Mailbox on Facebook and followed me on Twitter. When I first started blogging, there are many moments where I weren’t sure if there is anyone out there reading my blog or even care about what I had to say each day. Now, I’ve been receiving comments from all over the world, amazing and talented people started to follow me on Twitter and even added me as a fan on Facebook. No…I don’t have a thousand fans or friends for that matters. But for me, I really do cherish all my readers and my fans. It means the world to me and you are all my greatest motivation. I would like to say thank you to everyone who spent their time to read my blog and leave such sweet comments and people who started to follow me on Twitter and also became a fan of Peach Mailbox on Facebook. I am so grateful and I wouldn’t even be here without all the supports. So again, thank you and stay tuned. Big hugs to all! Cheers!

Recently, I just became a fan of the Nebraska Humane Society on Facebook. Since I used to live in Omaha, NE while I was going to school, I actually had a chance to visit the facility when I was thinking about adopting a dog. All the staff were very nice and helpful. I just wished that I could take all the dogs home with me (and other animals that were there for that matter). Then last week I saw that they are running out of dog toys to help with kennel enrichment. I actually understand that because both of my dogs Rascal and Darla were going through them like crazy. I just got them both new toys and 15 mins later, one of the toy’s arm came off! Then this is it…my moment to get involved! I always wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter but I think that I would come home with a new dog everyday. Since my husband and I live at a loft in Downtown, I don’t think that would work very well.

Inspired by one of my great friends (Jes) who once invited people over to make handmade dolls and donate them to childrens hospital, I thought that this would be fun to have people come together, have some dessert, coffee & tea, hang out and make some dog toys! All you do is show up and we will have all the supplies ready for you. Since Peach Mailbox Studio (& place to live) doesn’t have a big space to accommodate a large group of people, we will be inviting a small group of people (8-10 max) and hosting this party once a month! So if anyone is interested and would like to join us in some dog toy making for donation, please email me at gamie@peachmailbox.com. I will make sure to send you SAVE THE DATE card and the formal invitation with all the information. After the party, Peach Mailbox will ship the babies* that we handmade to the Nebraska Humane Society. We would like to donate babies* to other animal shelters as well so if anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them.

I had a pleasure to work with a very talented and sweet Emma Delf through one of my good photographer friend Henry Chen of Henry Chen Photography. Emma hired Peach Mailbox {Design Studio} to design her whole branding for her photography business which includes logo design, colors, and her website which will be launch real soon. So everyone stay tuned!
For our first meeting, I met Emma at her lovely home. We went over the colors that she absolutely love and things that inspired her. Then I came up with a few logo designs, color combinations and the icon designs. Above is the final logo design and branding colors. If you noticed the swirly icon above her logo, you will see the hidden of Emma’s initial “ED”. I really enjoy working with Emma and I can’t wait until her website design are done and launch soon! Thanks so much Emma for this awesome opportunity and also special thanks to Henry Chen for recommended Peach Mailbox. Please contact Emma directly at 213.925.4280.
(I will be working with Emma on my new photoshoot for my new greeting cards collection. I can’t wait!)

It is such an honor to have an opportunity to blog about one of my favorite stores in Long Beach, Blue Windows. Without Blue Windows, Peach Mailbox wouldn’t even be here today. I first found this amazing boutique shop when I used to work in Long Beach. I used to go there on my lunch break and walk around the store when I had a creative block (for a lack of a better word) and needed some inspiration. Then one day I had an opportunity to meet the owner of the store Heather, who is truly brilliant, creative and sweet. She has wonderful taste for style and as you can see below, her store displays are absolutely outstanding. Since I also used be a visual merchandiser for Restoration Hardware way back when (another retail store I worked at while looking for a full-time graphic design job). I really appreciated the work that she put into her store display and all the way down to signage. It starts with the window displays, each and every corner of the store has its own theme and even customize ceilings displays. Five Stars in my book!!! I just can’t get enough of how creative Heather and her team is.

when I first designed my scented cupcake card, I went to Blue Windows and met with Heather. Back then, I only had 1 card! Now Peach Mailbox has over 100 greeting cards both scented and non-scented. If you have a chance to visit my website, under the about us page, it was Heather at Blue Windows who gave me my first opportunity and I will never ever forget that.
At Blue Windows, you will find all kinds of unique items that you never thought you needed until you see them and then you say to yourself “I got to have this”. Her jewelry sections are awesome blossom. I bought most of my jewelry pieces from Blue Windows. Let’s just say, I never walked out from the store empty handed. I found a lot of cute little items that made such perfect gifts for special occasions and/or just because. When I was there to take pictures of her store yesterday, I came home with a note book and heart shape hair clips. Confession, I would probably buy one of each item in the store if I could.
One of the things that Heather is doing right now that totally caught my attention are her monthly charitable donations. Each month, she picks an organization for her donation. I am all for that! I think that it is such a wonderful thing to give back to the community. For her January 2010 charity, Blue Windows donated 10% of the store’s profits to The Long Beach Rescue Mission and the month of February, 10% of jewelry sales will be donated to Hearts Without Boundaries. For more information about the orgazination and to follow Blue Windows’ monthly charitable donations, please visit http://bluewindows.net/journal/.
Thank you so much Heather for giving Peach Mailbox a chance and believing in my work. I’m so glad I had a chance to meet you and I’m so grateful everyday for this opportunity. Most of all, thank you so much for your generosity and for being who you are. we need more people like you in this world.

I designed this wedding invitation suite set for Circle The Date at the end of last year. This was my first custom wedding invitations that was done in letterpress. All of my custom invitations prior to this were flat print. After I saw this piece in person, I wanted to have all my designs done in letterpress. I always have been a huge fan of letterpress but I have never seen my designs as such until now.

Love the details on the invite, patterns on the back and the matching color edging around the invite was the icing on the cake. All the pieces were hold together by the belly band. It was simple, elegant and sweet and I have to say (in my honest opinion), it will not have the same look and feel if this invitation was done in flat print. This may cost more than usual but when you see the piece in person, I promised…it was worthed! Thanks Amy from Circle The Date for having me designed this piece.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to have an opportunity to blog about a design I did for a company that I very much respect and give kudos to everything that they do. While working on growing my greeting cards business I also do freelancing on the side. The one thing that I’ve learned from my previous experience working at an ad agency as a graphic designer was that you need to be able to put your feet (both feet) in your client’s shoes and learn about their company and adapt to it. There are times that I can design projects in 1-2 hrs and wah lah…it’s done. There are also times where I find myself reading, reseaching and the project may end up taking 8-20 hrs or more. I compare myself to a camelion when I work on freelance graphic design projects because not everyone is going to want cupcakes or girly things.

AP consulting LA was looking for a tri-fold brochure, the invitation to the ATF Event insert, and also a spot for their business card. Knowing their branding from meeting with Josh and Stephanie (they are the core of the company), I had an idea of what they were looking for. So I put on a different thinking hat and start working. This project had a very tight deadline but we made it anyways. Team work, team work, team work. I love working for AP consulting LA. Always full of creative ideas, organize yet laid back, and most important thing they make it happens! It was such great pleasure to know them and to even working with them was just absolutely priceless. I hope everyone enjoy a different side of my graphic design work (besides cupcakes, flowers, and wedding invites). Thank you so much Josh and Stephanie at AP Consulting LA/Loft Seven for this awesome opportunity. The sky is the limit for both of you!
